Today is the first day of school! Kevin was so excited to get back to school to see his friends and to meet his new teacher.
The summer went by so quickly. Kevin is such a big boy now. I can't believe that he is going into Third Grade. It seems like just yesterday that he was in Kindergarten.

When Kevin was in Kindergarten, we began the tradition of going away the week before school begins. The trip is our last hurrah of the summer before getting back to the routine of school and homework.
This year, we went to Busch Gardens and Historic Williamsburg. We had so much fun but it was really hot! It was entirely predictable that Kevin would love Busch Gardens. He spent hours and hours on the rides! The more loops, twists and turns, the better.
I was really surprised at how much he loved Historic Williamsburg. Mike and I have always loved historical destinations so I guess Kevin is following in that tradition. Kevin was so curious about colonial times and asked a million questions.
I was really happy that our trip was both fun and educational.

We welcomed a new cousin into the world a few weeks ago! What a joyful occasion.
Kevin immediately wanted to hold him and take care of him. I know that Kevin is going to be a great big brother!

Every July 4th, we spend a long weekend with my Michele's sister in Virginia. We swim, golf and watch the fireworks.
As you can see from this picture of Kevin with his cousins, the kids really enjoyed the fireworks. The fireworks were beautiful and I am sure that the adults enjoyed them too!

Our profile was activated this week. We are so excited!
Last week was Father's Day. We spent the entire day at the boardwalk. We went to the beach and then to the amusement park. Kevin went on all the rides. He went on the roller coaster over and over!
Later that evening, we ate dinner at a restaurant that overlooked the water. There was a beautiful sunset. It was a great Father's Day.
