We just returned home from a fun vacation with some of Rob's family. After the festivities of the 4th of July, we traveled up to Teton National Park with Rob's parents, his brother and his son and Rob's sister and her husband. After spending some time in Jackson Hole we ventured up to Yellowstone National Park for a few days of hiking, walking, biking, hiking, driving and hiking (did I mentioned that?). We saw some spectacular wildlife (including a grizzly bear!) and were awed by the wonders of the park. We returned to Grandma and Grandpa's house and then went camping to top the week off. :) It was a fun-filled week!

Happy 4th of July! As is tradition, Rob and I spent the weekend in Provo with Rob's parents. Joining us this year were his brother Steve and his son, and Rob's sister, Jenny, and her husband Mark. With the exception of Camille, everyone ran the "Freedom Run 5K" (someone's gotta watch the kids, right?) and then we found a nice spot to sit and watch the parade. Of course we had a BBQ later on with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., and then had fun letting off fireworks and watching the kids see how many times they could run around the house before their sparkler went out. Good times. :)
Kindergarten is over. I have to admit, I'm having a harder time with this than I thought. Although both William and I are very excited for him to be in 1st grade, I'm so sad that he'll be starting his full time school career in a couple months. This is making me even more anxious than before to adopt. I really feel like this is the perfect time for our family to add another child since once school starts back up in August I'll have so much time to focus on a new family member. William asked me today if he could get bunk beds to share with his new brother or sister. He's so anxious to be a big brother! We're all trying to be patient, but we really hope our new baby finds us soon!

Today was William's 6th birthday party. We let him invite a few friends to play at Chuck E. Cheese's - one of his favorite places. He was king for the day!
Today our profile was activated on ParentProfiles.com. We're very excited about the opportunity for more birth parents to check us out!
FAMILY: Our reason for adoption. It was on this date that our adoption journey began. After dealing with fertility issues for 9(ish) years (with one happy successful pregnancy in between), we contacted our adoption agency and got going with the process. It was hard to admit to ourselves that maybe we wouldn't be able to have more biological children, but after yet another appointment with a specialist, Camille decided she didn't want to deal with "infertility" anymore. It was time to move forward with a new hope. We waited a few months to talk to William about our decision because we thought he may have been too young to understand, but once we told him about adoption he has been so anxious to become a big brother and frequently asks us when we're going to get our new baby. My heart breaks every time he asks - knowing that we have no control over "when" - just how. We believe there is a child or two out there meant for our family and we can't wait to welcome him/her into our lives!
