We are winding down with our first term of school. This is our third year teaching and it is getting more and more comfortable and efficient. I teach English to grades 8-12 and French. Shawn teaches Social Studies to all grade levels, as well as a Theatre class. We live only two minutes from the school that we both teach at so we get to go to work together, eat lunch together, and support our students together. Shawn is an assistant volleyball coach and his girls are in second place in our region. We are really proud of how well they have done and are confident that they will do well at the state championships next week. We are so happy for the changing seasons-change always allows for a new beginning with new adventures ahead!

We have spent the past week in Bethany, Delaware with Shawn's family. Grandma and Grandpa rented a beach house and we spent our days going to the beach, reading, playing games, and eating east coast food. Shawn grew up in Delaware and spent many summers going to the Delaware beaches. It was fun to share in his memories and to make some of our own.

We went to the Rehoboth boardwalk where I played my first horse racing game and ate my first boardwalk fries and funnel cake. The weather was absolutely perfect and it was fun to play like a kid!
This weekend we went camping in the mountains around Park City, UT. We used our tent for the first time and I was surprised by how easy it was to put up and take down. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious (as it always is when camping) and we learned a new game called ladder ball.
This weekend we had our annual summer sleepover with our nieces and nephews. We ate pizza, played, and watched the movie Penelope. We actually projected the movie on a wall outside and had our own "theater" experience. We went to bed really late and had a yummy breakfast in the morning. We sure love to hang out with our nieces and nephews who range from 15 years to 6 months.

Oh the lazy days of summer! We have been taking every opportunity that we can to be with friends and family, read good books, and watch movies. It has been so nice to lounge and play because, during the school year, we don't have much time to ourselves. We spent some time in Colorado visiting family, playing at Waterworld, golfing, shopping, BBQing, and watching Rockies games about a week ago. We have a couple of weeks to prepare for school and then we will be going to Delaware for a week to spend time at the beach visiting more family. Once we get the home, the craziness of school and athletics begins anew!
