A couple weeks ago we went to a family reunion with Brian's entire family, now 25 members strong. We all stayed in a lodge for a week near Yellowstone. This is a photo of one of our nephews who is six. He's a fun and smart little guy. He taught us about pi--"the number, not the food." We had so much fun catching up with everyone, riding motorcycles and playing games. We went to Yellowstone one day and saw Old Faithful, elk, bison and an eagle. A highlight was meeting the youngest member of the clan, our 5 week old niece. We love our family and look forward to being with them again.

(Entry from Brian) We love to put pesto on pasta and sandwiches. It's not hard to make yourself. We grow a barrel full of basil each year for this very reason. We buy a few small plants in the spring and before long they produce beautiful leaves that make up part of our favorite pesto recipe. It also has toasted pecans, garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil. I blend it up and freeze it in ice cube trays against future pasta cravings.

(Entry from Carina) I went to the zoo this week with some friends. Some of the highlights were these flamingos, the monkeys and dolphins. I love seeing how interested children are to see animals like this. It was a fun day of exploring!

We are on spring break this week so we are enjoying our free time. Yesterday we went to a flower show with a friend and her 2-1/2 year old son. We saw all kinds of gardens--Italian, French, Japanese, Spanish and others. Today we tried out a great new restaurant. Later this week we're baking peanut butter cookies for a friend's birthday. We look forward to sharing similar activities with our children as our family grows.
