We took our nephew parasailing!
We always look forward to our annual vacation to Wisconsin with Cindy's family! We start our vacation today and will see fireworks over the lake after we drive up North!

We like to volunteer for Habitat For Humanity when we have time. Cindy and her friend did some painting and then helped with hanging new siding.
We enjoyed spending the day with Peter's brother and his family by taking our canoes out on the river!

I was on a fund raising committee to raise money for a scholarship fund for a school I worked at. My sister, who came to the luncheon event, came close to winning the hat contest we had!

We volunteered to help our Church pack 4 million meals to be sent to Zimbabwe to feed 40,000 children in need. We are happy that we can help in even a small way to make a difference in the fight against global hunger.

April 17th is our wedding anniversary, and we are so thankful to have such a strong marriage and be each others best friend!
Our oldest nephew was visiting us on his Spring break, so Peter took the day off work so we could drive into the city to spend the day! It was a beautiful sunny Spring day, and Cindy's Mom joined us also. We had fun going to the Art Institute of Chicago, having a picnic lunch at Millenium Park, and going to see Buckingham Fountain!

On the evening before Easter, we went to Church with Cindy's family and had dinner at her parent's house.
On Easter Sunday, we went to Peter's Aunt & Uncle's house to be with his family and have our big Easter meal.
Cindy loves to cook and bake. She made a strawberry spinach salad & sweet potato casserole to go with the meal, and chocolate coconut macadamia nut cookies & chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert. Uncle Rob also brought his famous chocolate lamb cake!
In this photo, Cindy is with her niece and Lulu (who is impersonating a bunny with her bunny ears on!)

Last summer, we did a second story addition on our garage, as well as rebuilt our shed with a new balcony. Peter, Cindy, Peter's dad, and a few friends all worked together on the big project. Peter and his Dad both love fixing and building things. Cindy aquired some new carpentry skills and had fun learning from them both!
Peter recently made custom window boxes for under the windows, which he hung up today! Cindy looks forward to planting some flowers in them this Spring, as she loves gardening!

Cindy and her Mom both love flowers and gardening, so they went to the Flower and Garden Show at Navy Pier. All the beautiful flowers there can really put you in the mood for Spring!

Before returning home from our two week vacation, we visited some of Cindy's family that live in the San Diego area. Cindy's Great Uncle, her Grandma's brother, will be turning 90 soon!

Here is Peter with the boys excited to fly!

Our friend is a pilot and flew us to San Diego on his airplane so that we could also visit some family while in California. Two of his boys wanted to join us, as they are little pilots "in training"! :)

Here is photo of all us together before leaving our friend's house. Peter and his good friend Todd have been friends since High School back when they played football together. It's always fun to visit them!

Our friend's youngest son was interested in watching us prepare dinner together...maybe hoping to get a snack!

Peter's parents flew home, but we flew to California to visit some good friends and their four boys! We both had fun jumping on the trampoline with the kids. Here is Peter with one of the boys having a good time!

Cindy made sure to go for one more jog on the beach during sunrise on our last day. We could see whales spouting in the distance.

We love dolphins, and were thrilled to see a pod of them! Peter held our underwater camera under the water as the dolphins swam next to our zodiac raft in order to get this great shot of them!

On our last full day in Hawaii, we did a full day of boating and snorkeling around the island of Lanai. One of the tour guides found a cool starfish on the ocean floor that we took a photo with before putting him back in the water!

We enjoyed our day driving the road to Hana in the convertible we rented as the view from the road is incredible. One of our adventures of the day that we enjoyed the most was hiking to a rare and very cool Red Sand Beach!

We flew back to Maui today! The four of us drove up to Haleakala Crater where we did some hiking. The view from the top was amazing, and it was such a clear day to see everything! Here is a photo of Peter and his Dad.

We really enjoy snorkeling! Here is Cindy after doing some snorkeling at Tunnels Beach. The reef is so large there that it can be seen from outer space! There are so many beautiful fish there that swim right up to you!

Here is Peter exploring the underwater world. He has always enjoyed fish, which is why we have a 50 gallon fish tank he built in the wall of our den back home.

We had fun hiking around Waimea Canyon, and love all the waterfalls there!

We celebrated Cindy's birthday with a spectacular ride on a door-less helicopter over Kauai! We also landed by a secluded waterfall for some swimming and to have a picnic lunch!

Here is a photo we took from the helicopter of the Napali Coast.

This year, we treated Peter's parents to Hawaii with us to thank his dad for helping us with our garage addition we did together last summer.
Here is a photo of Peter and his Mom when we all hiked down to Queen's Bath in Kauai. Peter's parents love to go hiking too.

We both love sea life! One of the best things about visiting Hawaii in February is that it is peak season for the Pacific Humpback Whale to migrate to the Hawaiian Islands to give birth to their calves. We went boating to see a lot of whales, but we could even see them from the beach and from our hotel lanai! Here is a photo we took of one of them breaching out of the water!

We celebrated Valentine's Day with a hike to Iao Valley in Maui, a beautiful place to spend some time.

Today, we begin our vacation to one of our favorite places to travel to: The islands of Hawaii! The rainbows here are so beautiful, and you can see one almost everyday!

Peter loves spending time with kids! He had fun playing with our friend's daughter on New Year's Day!

For New Years this year, we spent the night in Chicago at our friend's house. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner, and had fun hanging out with their one year old daughter!

We celebrated Christmas with Peter's family this year at our home on the 27th. A couple of our cousins were able to come in from Texas and California, and even brought their dogs! It was so fun to all be together!
Peter has a large extended family, and here are just a few of them!

We usually spend Christmas Day at Cindy's parent's house with her family. Here is a photo of Peter opening a present that our nephew bought for him.
We want to say to whoever is reading this...
We wish you and your family that you feel Christ's Love and receive His Blessings at Christmastime and throughout the New Year!

We had fun having some neighbors and friends over for one of our Christmas parties this year. Here is a photo of Cindy and a good friend in front of our Christmas tree.

At a Christmas party, Peter enjoyed feeding a cousin's newborn son!

For Lulu's birthday this year, we invited some friends over, along with some of her "doggie friends"! We had cake for the people, and pupcakes for the dogs!

We had fun watching the Christmas parade we went to!

My Mom and I went to a charity luncheon to raise money for a scholarship fund. I appreciate that my parents live nearby and that my Mom and I enjoy going places together.

Lulu is asking Santa for a playmate!

Each year on the day after Thanksgiving, we have a tradition to go to a Tree Farm and cut down our Christmas tree. We often invite friends or family to join us. It's fun to take the horse drawn wagon ride out to the trees and, of course, enjoy hot cocoa when we're done!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Each journey begins with a small step. We pray that the step that you have taken to choose life for your child, and the step that you took to review our profile, will put us all on a life journey together. We look forward to a bright future that we will share with a beautiful child, a gift from God, and one that only an angel like you could fulfill.
