Jim and I love having friends over and we love the Spring weather.
There are a lot of azaleas around our house, which makes the spring time all the better when they are in bloom. We love planting different things around our house, trees, flowers, you name it, we plant it.

Jim and I ran in the St. Patrick's Day 5K race in Baltimore over the weekend with friends. It was a lot of fun and we beat our time from last year by 2 minutes. It was a cold, rainy day, but was a lot of fun.

So, the holiday's were tough on Jim and I. We've been sort of sad with not having a child in the house around the holiday's. We aren't usually depressed people, so to not be in a really happy mood was strange for both of us.
My grandfather also passed away on December 29th. He and I were very close. My mom and dad divorced when I was young (about 5), so my sister and I spent many weekends visiting my grandparents.
My grandfather had a huge impact on my life. He was so fun-loving. We would go water skiing, go fishing, he also took us flying in his small Cessna plane (he was a colonel in the airforce). I will miss him.
Jim and I are hoping that 2009 will be our year. We hope our little one is out there somewhere waiting for us to find him or her.

I love this saying, "You may not have grown in my belly, but you grew in my heart."
As hopeful adoptive parents, it says everything about how we feel about adopting a child - that they are growing in our hearts.
