We just finished a whirl-wind 2 weeks. We attended a national adoption seminar. It was a neat experience in that we were able to listen to two birth mothers relate their experiences. What amazing courage and strength these ladies displayed. One was in her thirties the other a teenager. The journey they took to find their families was emotional and heart warming. We only have our experiences as adoptive parents, but to get a glimpse into how these women were led to their families was awesome. Their placements are also much more open than we have experienced. As that is the trend, I DO look forward to getting to know our next birth mother better. We missed out on that in the past.
At the meeting we also met a couple who let us know of a baby who might be up for adoption. So we have spent the last two weeks texting, emailing, calling and it seems trying to open every locked door in our way. But it looks as though the door is to remained locked.
It seems as though we are taking all these baby steps to get to our birth mother and her baby. I must say it keeps me busy in the emails we get from prospective birth mothers. But it is also emotional every time we get an email and wonder....is this it? So our journey continues from one slippery rock to the next. I am thankful daily for the busy life we lead with sports, dance, church, school, date nights, play dates as I am reminded of the two amazing children and incredible husband who all joins together in the journey to our baby and birth mother. Till next time. t
So, instead of using this as our journal I want to talk to birth-parents. Since we have posted our profile we have had three birth-mothers contact us. One opened up an interesting dialog, the other two inquired from us and then once we responded, we never heard again. All wanted to know a little more about us. What does that mean? There are a million things I could tell you, but what do you REALLY want to know about us? Its so hard to guess what you want to know. And of course you are looking for specific things. Because the decision you are making is so important to you! Not that I am looking to give the perfect answer to you. I could never anticipate what that answer would be. All we can do is answer honestly. So what do you really want to know about us? You made it this far into our profile. :)
We started putting together this website before the holidays. Well, we had a great holiday season, and now we have finished putting everything together so that you can learn more about us!
As far as journal entries go check out our blog which will have the most current events of our family.
On the way to church we were talking about Thanksgiving and what it is. THEA: Eating. TYLER: (in his infinite knowledge announced): It was about the pilgrims coming to America to worship. Brad threw a curve ball at Mr. smarty pants and asked: Where they were sailing from? TYLER: England. BRAD: Who was the king? TYLER: hmmm. THEA: God, Jesus. BRAD: NO, King George. THEA: You mean GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE? Outta the mouths of babes!

We LOVE Disneyland. The best times to visit are Halloween and Christmas. Lines are shorter and the kids spend more time on rides. Tyler moved up to the 'big-boy' rides and Thea finally hit the 42' marker and was able to go on a lot more rides. Some might think we go TOO often, but the magic of the characters is still in their eyes and we want capture all those memories with the kids!

Tyler and Thea had so much fun. Party overload, candy overload...isn't that what Halloween is all about??
