Last night we had our monthly Families Supporting Adoption meeting.

We talked about taxes and adoption and then we talked about how the process of adoption affects our marriage.

Our caseworker related the process of adoption with the difficulty of running a marathon, only not knowing where the finish line is and how marathon runner experience both highs where it is easier, and lows where it is very difficult. We talked about our "Peaks" and our "Valleys", as it related to our adoption marathon. It was very interesting to hear that every adoptive family had the same struggles and highs.

Some of our “Peaks” were: The excitement of knowing that we are ready to adopt. Finishing our paper work, getting approved, getting educated and educating others. Getting on different networks to increase our chances of being chosen.

Some of our “Valleys” were: The bitter-sweet of hearing the other success stories, Educating others, Knowing that we have been shown, but wondering why we haven’t been chosen.

Even though this has been an exciting and difficult process, The most important thing that we try to remember is that Heavenly Father knows us best and it is His time frame which will be the correct time for us.

We have come to realize how much we love each other and our daughter. We realize how blessed we are and what a miracle children are. We have appreciated all the support we have received and are receiving from our friends and family and thank you for your prayers for us and for those birth parents out there.

It has been an amazing process and we are praying that we only have the .2 mile left in our 26.2 adoption marathon.

We had a snow storm which is rare where we live. We got about 4 inches which caused the schools to be closed. We had a fun day building snowmen, having snow ball fights and drinking hot chocolate. We had to take advantage of having snow!
