We got to babysit our friends' kids this weekend. They have a little park by their house that I took him to while Brett stayed with the baby girl. The little boy thought it was hilarious that I climbed on the toys with him. He would climb up a ladder then look back at me and say "your turn". It makes us so excited to get our own chance at having a family! -- Julia

We've completed our application and have been approved for adoption and have been waiting now for 6 months. We had high hopes that it would happen quickly for us, but no matter how long the wait, we know it will be worth it.
It feels kind of silly to prepare for a baby when you don't have one or have any idea when you will have one. We giggle when we get confused looks from sales clerks. When they ask when I'm due I love to say "any day!"
We have gotten the basics so far: crib, dresser, and a stroller/carseat. We've also painted the baby's room. I have even tried my hand at quilting. I've made two quilts; one for a boy and one for girl. They turned out really cute. Our next project is to baby proof the house. We got clips to put on all our cupboards.
