TO OUR FUTURE Baby's FIRST MOMMY,
Today Eva asked if "her baby" would be here before her birthday on the 11th of this month. I told her that our baby's first mommy would find us when the time is right. She then said, "Well, do you think if I pray REALLY HARD that Heavenly Father would help our baby's first mommy find us today?" "It never hurts to pray for blessings, Eva" I said. The truth is, we don't know when our baby is coming, but we are living with a prayer in our hearts that You, our baby's first mommy, will find us. We know the Lord will guide You to us, and us to You, if we just listen to our hearts. Adoption can be such a blessing for everyone involved, when it is done right; with the spirit of Love. We love that You are considering adoption and possibly considering us as your baby's Life Parents. May God Bless You with all the strength that you need to make the right decisions right now. You Are So Loved.

"FROM GOD'S ARMS TO MY ARMS TO YOURS."

One of my favorite adoption songs is by Michael McClean called "From God's Arms To My Arms To Yours." The song was written for a young mother to sing for the couple she had decided to place her baby for adoption with. She had a feeling this was the best thing she could do for her soon-to-be-born child, but she needed a song to seal the peace of her decision. The first time I heard this song, I was in college and my best friend growing up had just told we she had gotten pregnant with her boyfriend and she didn't know what to do. This song came on the car radio and I remember that there was such a peaceful feeling in the car for both of us. Although, she didn't place her child for adoption, as she and her boyfriend got married, the song touched my heart then, and I still love it to this day. While growing up, I always felt as though adoption would be how children would come into my life. So, when Kelly and I couldn't have anymore children together, physically, I knew that we would find our youngest child through adoption. I am so thankful for the blessing of adoption. I would love for you to hear this song--you can check it out on You Tube under the song's title:

FROM GOD'S ARMS TO MY ARMS TO YOURS

The great thing about OPEN or Semi-OPEN ADOPTION is that, not only will we TELL our baby that he or she was loved before, but she will KNOW this, and be able to SEE this. We truly believe adoption is an act of love, and the greatest gift a mom could give to her child. We hope and pray that we will have the opportunity to experience this miracle in our family.

Kelly's back to school, this time for Orthodontics--braces anyone? He is well acquainted with the "train tracks" process--he had braces for SIX YEARS! Wow! I can't imagine, we have naturally straight teeth in our family. Luckily Kelly has such a sense of humor, he makes a great Doc, especially for kids.

Today I learned that an adoptive Mom can breastfeed! Wow! I think I might like to look into this and see if I can do it. I breastfed all three of our kids and I would love to be able to do this with our new baby. We'll see...

Today I learned how to can tomatoes! We have a 7 full tomato plants and I thought it would be cool to learn how to can them. It was fun new skill to learn. Now, we have 5 fresh canned jars of tomatoes, from our own garden. It's kind of nice to know that we can really take care of our own needs, through our own efforts. Yum, tomatoes! I can't wait to make fresh spaghetti sauce for dinner.

We just found a beautiful crib set on Craigslist--I am a Craigslist junkie! :) I think we are all set for when we find our baby. We can't wait to have little angel in our lives again, they are such precious gifts from Heaven. When you think about it, it's as though their little spirits have come fresh from Heaven--if they could only talk I'd bet they'd have so much to tell us. Especially of our Father's eternal love for us--no matter our problems here on earth. No one's perfect, right?

It's the end of July and we are finally feeling settled in our new home for two years. Hopefully we'll be able to go right back to the paradise of Hawaii after Kelly finishes his schooling. We are really missing our friends, but luckily we have the internet and we can keep in close contact. We pray daily for the right adoption situation, both for us and the birth parents. We know the Lord's Hand is supporting us both and guiding us to each other, only time will tell when and where we find one another.

Wow! It's hard to believe how fast time flies! We have moved from Hawaii and we have arrived in our new home in Kentucky while Kelly finishes his two-year Orthodontic residency. I can't believe it's Back-to-School time for us both, already. Luckily, I am able to do my classes on line from the comfort of our home. It's nice to be home for the kids and take one or two classes at night. Eventually I'll finish my degree in Health and Wellness, but the kids have always been the most important and their well-being is foremost in our priorities.

It's Cinco De Mayo today. Since Kelly speaks Spanish and we love Mexican food we decided to go out for a Cinco de Mayo Mexican food fiesta. Yum! We haven't had really good, authentic Mexican food since we left Utah around 11 years ago. There's this great place called Javier's--it is the best and least expensive authentic Mexican food we've ever had! Whenever we go home to Utah, we always make a trip to Javier's. Hopefully this swine flu will pass so we can make our trip to Puerto Penasco in June--it is supposed to be the first trip to Mexico for our kids, but we don't want them to get sick either--we'll see. Maybe Kelly and I will just go. :)

Today is the day after Easter. Just like Easter is celebrated in the Spring as a new beginning, I feel our adoption journey is a new beginning for our family. We are so excited to welcome a little one into our home. We just love babies!
