We've had an unseasonably warm November. It's been beautiful out. We've spent a lot of time outdoors walking the dogs and enjoying the scenery.
We got new tires for the cars. We get a ton of snow in Northern Illinois, so we want to make sure we're ready for anything.
This past weekend, my niece Bridgette asked us when she is going to meet her new baby cousin. I didn't know what to say, but my husband jumped in and said, "soon, we hope!".
All the Best,
Laura :)

Here I am with my niece, Bridgette.
We had a fun Halloween today. We went trick or treating with my two nieces, Bridgette and Erin. My parents came with, too. And, of course, my sister and her husband were also there. We had a great time walking through the neighborhood and watching the girls run from house to house.
We ended up eating a lot of candy, and now we're settling into a food coma!
Hi,
We're just checking in to say "hello." Fall is here and we've been busy raking leaves, taking our dogs to the dog park, and getting ready for winter.
The trees in Northern Illinois are gorgeous this year. I've been taking a lot of pictures and enjoying the landscape. Jeff has been a little stressed at work lately, but he just finished a major project and is starting to slow down for a while.
We think about our future baby and her birth mom a lot. We're praying for you both and hope you'll find us soon.
Best,
Laura and Jeff

Today we had a fun day. I showed some homes in the morning for work, then I had the rest of the day off. Jeff and I went went out for lunch in a nearby suburb that has an old fashioned downtown with great little shops and restaurants.
After lunch, we went to the bookstore and checked out the magazine section. One of my big guilty pleasures is reading the celebrity-entertainment magazines. Jeff enjoys "more serious" reading about current events and computers. We spent the afternoon sipping coffee, reading, talking and people watching. I have a game where I point out someone who looks like a celebrity and ask Jeff to guess who it is. It's kind of a silly game, but we like it.
Later, we visited my sister Cindy's family. I attached a picture of Cindy with her new son Braden. Braden is almost a year old. My sister is super-excited for us to adopt a baby so that Braden will have a cousin to play with.
More soon. :)
Today is a typical day in the life of the Cannon household. It's a warm, September morning. Jeff is at work. And, I just finished doing chores around the house. Our dogs, Sammy and Jimmy, are sleeping under the desk as I type.
This afternoon, I'll go to the office for a few hours, then grocery shop for dinner. I'm thinking of making barbecued chicken on the grill. I have some fresh tomatoes from the garden to make a salad. Tonight, Jeff and I will have dinner together, walk the dogs, maybe work on the yard a little, watch some t.v., and call it a night.
It's a little on the quiet side, but I'm so grateful for our life together. Still, there is definitely room for one more! We are ready to start a family. The waiting for a match is hard; I won't pretend it isn't. But, I know that God is watching over us and over you.

We went to the beach this weekend in northern Illinois. My parents, sister and her family all came too. We had a blast. I am so grateful for days like this. My favorite moments are when I just hang out with people I love doing very little at all. We spent most of the afternoon just talking and eating, and it was perfect. The only negative was my hair! It was definitely a "bad hair day!" :) Oh well!
We look forward to sharing our lives with you.
