We had a lot of company come over this weekend. Andy and his friends are getting ready for their annual trip. Andy's parents came over to see our newly painted great room. His mom and I played games.

My mom and I went to Becky's (Andy's sister) baby shower. As you can see by the picture of Becky and myself, monkeys will be in the nursery. Andy finished painting the great room. It was nice to get the scaffolding down and get everything back in order.

Happy Halloween! We went to a costume party this year. Andy was a devil warrior and I was the grim reaper. It was fun as people didn't know who we were.

Andy's sister, Becky, and I went to a play (The Sunshine Boys) and then out for appetizers this weekend.

Oh, and the most fun thing - we now have a jukebox. It is very fun! It would be so fun to dance with our children (maybe your child?).

This week we started painting our great room. The walls were a white shade and are slowly turning to a rust color. It's a big change and now the fireplace just pops off the wall.

I thought about you this weekend and how you must be having so many emotions and thoughts running through your head. I'm sure it's a hard time for you and that you want to make the best choice for parents for your child. You are in my prayers.

It's my birthday! Andy and I went out to eat to celebrate on Friday. Saturday I helped my mom and visited my aunt and uncle. My aunt and uncle recently went to Hawaii and it was fun listening to their stories. The weather has been cooler so it was time for comfort food this week - scalloped potatoes with ham and roast with potatoes and carrots. My mom came for breakfast after church and we tried the new batch of bacon - it was good! My sister-in-law stopped over with her children. It was nice to have hugs from little ones on my birthday --- someday I'll have some from our own children (maybe your child?).

Yesterday we held our annual Pumpkin Party. It was another success! The largest pumpkin this year was 55 pounds (our records is 145). This year's craft project was individual kits that made cats, bats and pumpkin boys. We can't wait until we have children to take part in the festivities!

It was a quieter week this week. We went out to eat on Friday. I (Lori) went shopping with my mom and mother-in-law. Andy went hunting. The weather is getting cooler so it was a great day for a chili supper and a chocolate zucchini banana split cake (okay, zucchini is not a normal banana split ingredient, but it's good!).

Yesterday we had a campfire party for people Andy does work for. It was so fun I couldn't believe it was already 1:30 am when the last people left. Jed slept most of the day since he was up way past his bedtime. Today Andy and his brother smoked bacon. This is the first time we're trying this so I'm anxious to see how it tastes.

When I cleaned the nursery this week, I looked in the crib and thought about how wonderful it would be for there to be a baby laying in it. Maybe someday you will help make that come true. We would be forever grateful to you.

It was a fun week. I had a Pampered Chef party with lots of family, friends and food on Thursday. Friday I made Dutch Peach Blueberry pies - yum! Saturday my mom and I worked at a festival selling pies as a fundraiser for church. We really enjoy working at that festival.

Andy and I have been trying to build a family since 2000. Working on this profile gives us renewed hope. We have wanted children for so long and can not wait for it to be a reality.
