Yesterday morning, while I waited for Bob to finish getting ready for school-we carpool, I finished reading my first Harry Potter book. Number 5 of the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was one book I knew I had to go back and read after seeing the 6th movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We saw the movie in the theater over the summer while we were in Boston. We've seen every movie that comes on TV a number of times, but I'd only seen the Order of the Phoenix once so I felt I was missing some plot points when we saw the latest installment of the Harry Potter story.
I must say, even though I didn't catch everything during the latest movie, it was an AWESOME experience. The theater we saw it in was in Framingham, Massachusetts, which was located in, and I'm so not kidding, a furniture store, yes a furniture store. It was absolutely the coolest movie theater we have even been inside. Every seat in the theater had its own sub-woofer so the sound quality was amazing. Each seat also jostled you so you felt like part of the movie especially for the first 10 minutes, which were in 3D. It was so cool flying through the night streets of England! What a, as our nephew would say, "totally awesome" experience?!
So last night I started reading the book. I'm sure I won't miss anything this time around. And to think, someday we'll actually get to go to Hogwarts, albeit it will be at Universal Studios, Florida, but it will be Hogwarts, and we are excited to go!

Happy Halloween!
Today we decided it was time to "officially" move the furniture so we could take pictures and share them with you.
This first one is of the nursery from the doorway. The contraption on the crib may not look as nice as a fluffy comforter and bumpers, but it's the safest crib setup. The mesh ensures the baby's arms and legs won't get caught between the crib's wooden rails. The crib tent also helps to prevent SIDS and will keep the baby from getting injured while trying to climb out of the crib when they get older.

Here's a view of the nursery from the crib. Chrissy is always asked to make diaper cakes for her co-workers' baby showers. She enjoyed making the one on the dresser most of all because we got to keep it for the bundle of joy we will one day welcome home.

One of Chrissy's favorite areas of the nursery is this closet. It's full of soft and warm clothes from infant to 6 months old that can be worn on a boy or girl.

Here's the stroller we picked out. It will make a cozy and secure place for any baby. When we first looked at strollers we went to one of the only stroller tracks in the country to test drive different ones. We soon realized we needed an all terrain stroller because our driveway is gravel, we frequently go to one of our neighborhood beaches when the weather is nice, and we enjoy the shops and eateries downtown where the pedestrian area is paved with brick. Real tires on a stroller are an absolute must for us. :)

Today I finished sewing a blanket for our adopted child. It's made from lace napkins from my grandmother and some bedding from when I lived in the dorms in college. I have been working on it for a while, with some help from my maternal grandmother. This little blanket was made with love and I hope it becomes a favorite childhood item for our child!
It was easier to get a toll free number than I thought. If you would be more comfortable speaking with me directly, please feel free to use my new toll free number, which is found on our Contact Us page.
Best regards always,
Chrissy

Yea! We are all setup on Parent Profiles. We are excited to have our profile online. Currently the best way to contact us by phone is through our adoption social worker Rebecca Ricardo. Her email and toll free number are available on our Contact Us page. I am working on getting a toll free number so you may contact me directly. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I realize you may find it more comfortable to contact me directly, but please believe me when I tell you that Rebecca is a wonderful woman to talk to and she will make sure you are able to reach me if you are interested in considering us to be prospective adoptive parents.
Best regards always,
Chrissy
