First BIG Snow! We awoke this morning to 4 inches of snow. It is so pretty. Unfortunately, it is too cold to play in it (wind chill below zero). But, we are certainly enjoying looking at it. Sage didn't know what to do when we she went outside. She just tip-toed around until we let her back inside. Days like this make Tom and I glad that we both have jobs that we can do from our home office. I'm hoping for a few more snow days before the winter is over!
Merry Christmas!
We were lucky enough to get just enough snow to have a white Christmas. It is very pretty but very cold! Still, after too much time inside, we were getting a good case of "cabin fever", so today, we put on about 3 layers of clothes and went for a hike. It was so pretty in the woods and snowflakes fell on our faces as we walked. After a few minutes, we didn't even notice the cold. Sage ran and ran and even jumped in the creek. We came home re-invigorated and Tom made a pot of soup. Yummy.
We have enjoyed our Christmas break and consider ourselves very blessed to have each other and our many friends and family. However, more than anything, we are praying that 2010 will the THE YEAR that a child (or children) enter our lives.
Winter has finally arrived in Missouri. The cold weather has forced us inside today. So, I am baking a cake, Sage is sleeping in the living room, and Tom is practicing on his guitar as he prepares for the Christmas choir season. Tonight, he is making "Hunter Chicken" for dinner, one of our favorite winter meals. Mmm! Not a bad way to spend a cold day.
What a special day today is for us! The sun has come out after weeks of rain and it is a beautiful autumn day. Tom and I are celebrating by taking Sage (our dog) on a hike through the glades nearby. It is also a special day because today, we activated our profile on this website, which gives us new hope that someday we will have a family.
