It's Sunday evening and we are all winding down from the weekend. Connor is asleep, Jeff is watching football, and I'm just about ready to watch The Amazing Race (My favorite reality show, although I love American Idol also). As I mentioned last week not every weekend is busy for us and this weekend was a bit more relaxing than other weekends. However, we spent a lot time at the stores trying to get ideas for Christmas presents. Connor also gets a chance to play with his friends in the neighborhood. His best friend lives next door and she is six weeks younger than Connor and was also adopted. She, Connor and another friend covered our entire driveway with sidewalk drawings. Weekends like this Jeff and I try to make a big meal since we enjoy cooking together. We often take turns choosing a recipe and then we both cook it together. Some turn out great... others not so much.
We are looking forward to next weekend and Thanksgiving week. We are going to North Carolina to visit family for the holiday. On the way down we are stopping in Baltimore, Maryland to stay overnight and take Connor to the aquarium. It should be a lot of fun.

We are really excited to be able to share and give you a honest understanding of what our daily lives look like. We are often busy on weekends (as we were the past couple weekends) but also enjoy weekends when we have nothing planned. Those are the weekends we play games, go to the movies and cook big meals together.
On Friday we were able to go to the Yankee Parade since Jeff and I were off from work and Connor was off from school. We met Jeff's brother, Ken, his wife, Melissa and her sister. We had a great time and braved the cold and wind. Connor did great. We were there for three hours and he did not complain once until right before the last float came when he asked to leave. I was ready to leave at that point too. I could no longer feel my feet. I added some pictures from the parade to the album.
I also added pictures from Halloween and my step-mother's 60th birthday dinner. She actually ran the New York City marathon on the same day and celebrated running her best time. My sister, Emily ran it too. I ran it in 2000 and hope to run it again someday. Maybe next year or the year after.
I'll try to write often, so check back frequently. We can only try to imagine what an overwhelming task it must be to choose a family for your baby. By writing (which I also enjoy doing) I really hope you get a better sense of the home we will provide for you child.
We look forward to sharing our lives with you.
