Wow, can't believe that today is our 12th wedding anniversary! Time really has passed by so quickly! It's really nice to look back on our marriage and think about where we've been and where we're going. We hope we can celebrate our next anniversary with a little one!

Wow, we haven't been keeping up with this journal! :) Life gets hectic sometimes... we're still very much hoping to adopt and we pray every day that we will soon meet the expectant mom who will choose us to parent her baby. :)

We're excited about the holidays and about spending time with family and friends!

We had a very relaxed 4th of July yesterday, which was nice! We stayed at home... it's just been way too hot to be outdoors for too long. So, we decided to stay in and fire up the grill at home. Andrea's mom came over and we had a grilled feast! We are also able to see some fireworks from our yard, so that was fun, too.

Summertime!

I have loved working with my kiddos this past year and have had a lot of fun with them! However, I am so excited that it is summertime and I have 10 weeks ahead of me to rest, relax, travel, and get lots of projects done!

Maybe this summer will be a lucky one and we will finally become parents and meet an awesome expectant mom!

It's been a little while since this journal has been updated. We had a very blessed Christmas, spending time with family and loving every minute of it! We are also thankful for the New Year and the blessings that we hope it will bring. Our biggest dream is to become parents, and to have a child to love and raise. We pray that 2012 is the year that we connect with an expectant mom and build a great relationship with her that will lead to a healthy open adoption!

Today is Scott's birthday! Happy birthday to the kindest, funniest man I know! :)

We had a great day at Scott's parents' house. We carved pumpkins, which has become a tradition for Scott and his sister. They have carved pumpkins together every year since she was a toddler... so, 16 years!

What a great weekend to start the beginning of October! Our nephew, who is 15 months old now, spent the weekend with us at our house. It was the first time he has spent the night with us, and we loved having him here! He had a lot of fun and was quite the little mischief... including dipping french fries into the pets' water fountain and trying to brush the cat with his toothbrush! :)

Today we took him to the mall and had a blast! We took him to Build-a-Bear Workshop to help him build a teddy bear. This is something we have done with all of our nieces and nephews and it has become somewhat of a tradition for us. He absolutely loved the little kids' play area in the mall... Scott really enjoyed helping him down the slide over and over. :)

Happy birthday to an amazing man... my father! When I was about 18 months old, my mother moved down to Florida from New York. I did not know my biological father, as he and my mother were separated and he was not in our lives. Shortly after moving to Florida, she met the man who I know as my dad. When I was barely 2 years old, I asked him if he would be my daddy. And, as the story goes, he didn't hesitate to say yes. He has been a blessing in my life, and the lives of others. I am so grateful that God chose him to be my dad.

We have been slowly working on our nursery and gathering baby things since we started our home study. It has been a way to keep ourselves feeling hopeful about the process and knowing that we will bring our baby home one day. Our nursery has a monkey theme and the walls are a sage green and dark chocolate brown. It is such a happy, fun room and I love going in there!

Yesterday Andrea celebrated her 33rd birthday! As the oldest sibling, it's fun to be the first one to experience each age... Andrea's sister, Carmen, turns 30 next week and has already heard all about what that feels like! :)

We had a great time celebrating the day at a local painting studio. It's such a fun place! You can bring snacks and drinks, and hang out with friends and follow along with the instructor to create a masterpiece! Andrea was so glad that her mom and sister were able to come for the fun!

On our way home from the beach, we stopped at a HUGE store along the highway called Sparky's. They had everything in there, from souvenir t-shirts to salt water taffy, to seashell wind chimes. Scott was drawn to the hermit crabs and we ended up taking two of them home with us.

Keeping hermit crabs is not as easy as you'd think! But, we have had fun creating a little habitat for them. Andrea likes the coconut huts best. :)

We just got home yesterday from Myrtle Beach! We had such a wonderful week with our family and were very sad to leave the beach. It was a relaxing and very fun week. We ate at a lot of great restaurants and spent a lot of time at the pool and on the beach. We love spending time with our nieces and nephews, and we felt so blessed to have all of that time with them. It was so awesome to see our youngest nephew put his feet in the ocean for the first time in his life! Such a sweet experience! Sadly, vacation cannot last forever, and it is back to our routine this week. :)

We are having such a great time at the beach with our family! We arrived yesterday and have really enjoyed our time with everyone so far! Scott especially had fun playing with our nephews and niece in the water today. We will be here all week!

We are all packed and ready to leave for the beach tomorrow! We are meeting family in Myrtle Beach for a week-long vacation. We have family coming down all the way from New York! We are so excited to have some time to just relax and enjoy being with one another. Andrea is really hoping to take some great beach pictures!

This little kitten has been hanging around the yard and front porch for a few days. Every time we tried to get her to come to us, she ran away. She just looked so thin and pitiful! We decided to lure her over with some tuna... it worked! Andrea was able to snap this picture.

So, over the last two days, we have been feeding her. Andrea named her Cookie. We had to laugh this morning when Scott went outside and saw that Cookie had invited a friend to the porch! I guess we will need to think of another pastry/dessert themed name for the new little friend. :)

We are so excited to have our profile listed on this site! We look forward to seeing what the future holds and to connecting with an expectant mom who will always hold a special place in our hearts! We not only want to complete our family with a child, but we want to extend our family by having a lifelong relationship with our child's birth mother, in whatever capacity she is comfortable with.
